aeolian shift 01
this drawing is rendered in black acrylic on a flat, mottled gray and white ground. the drawing traverses 2 conjoined custom panels.
each of the 2 time-fields in this drawing are made using the same gesture, in the same color, at the same rate and duration using 2 differently sized drawing tools. Many of my drawings are made at a consistent rate of marking and as a series begins I am often training and creating muscle memory for a given tempo using a metronome— the goal is for the duration of each mark to be equivalent in duration to the space between the marks. This drawing, the first in a series of drawings made for my solo show at BMOCA was marked with the accompaniment of a metronome, maybe thats why this one feels musical to me…
this drawing requires 46'' x 43'' of wall space to be installed (2'' deep)
this drawing will ship in an oversized custom padded box/crate please select shipping over 48’’ ($100) at checkout
